Employer councils are one way for employers to work together for the benefit of their region and their regional labor sheds. Generally employer councils are focused on a particular industry sector within a specific region.
The West Michigan based Health Care Employer Council (HCEC) has as its vision to create an adequate pipeline of qqualified, competent and compassionate health care workers to meet the needs of the region for the next 15 years. A few HCEC documents are provided in the links to the right.
The Right Place is the economic development agency for the West Michigan region. They are the conveners of the Manufacturers' Council. They passed a resolution in December 2009 to adopt and advance the NAM Skills Certification System. See links to the right for more information.
